Synergen Met and The University of Queensland were recognised at the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ Global Awards in Gloucestershire on 7 November 2014, for their with their invention of a world-first process to produce cyanide at mine sites. Synergen Met is the only Australian company to date to have won this award.

In 2014, Synergen Met also received an Engineering Excellence Award from Engineers Australia. Synergen Met also won the Queensland Division for R&D and Innovation, and received a High Commendation for Industrial Development and Manufacturing.
